Thanks, Mr. Baker. Thank you.
Creator of chicken nugget diesRobert Baker was no ordinary chef. The inventor of the chicken nugget and Cornell Barbecue Sauce died at his home on Monday.
chong: not just the nuggets but the BBQ sauce, the freaking BBQ sauce!
Baker, who gave President Clinton a taste of his famous sauce, also developed a way to package and ship chicken, which helped pave the way for the success of Perdue Chicken.
chong: i ate packaged frozen chicken today.
A professor of poultry science at Cornell and graduate of '43, co-workers describe him as someone who loved to learn about other cultures and as a joy to be around.
chong: and he loved other cultures, which probably included the Chinese.
Other food science professors say his poultry inventions literally changed the course of food history.
chong: changed MY life!
"Anyone today who is eating poultry is benefiting from his research, his product development," said Cornell University Professor of Food Science Joe Regenstein.
chong: exactly.
He was 84.
chong: thank you, sir.
